I KNOW there are other 'MechWarrior/BattleTech fans floating around.

State whether or not you'll be getting the latest in the series; the return to non-MechAssault-actually-GOOD-MechWarrior.
State your house/clan/merc group.
If you sprung for one of the Founders packages, state your choice of Founder's 'Mech.

To begin:
I sprung for the Elite Founder package. Early access to the game. Two months of premium account (quicker EXP and in-game currency gain). $80 worth of additional starting in-game currency.

Errr... I had originally posted that I had joined house Marik, but apparently I'm listed as a "lone wolf." So mercenary madness it is!

The Elite package allows me to select one of the four Founders' 'Mechs. I went with the Catapult. I dig the long-range game.

Also, it's a return to more standard 'MechWarrior. I'm not surprised it's Windows only. Perhaps when the full release drops they'll have a Mac-friendly variant.

You forgot one, Battledroids. That's what it was originally called but with Lucas having the word 'droid' trademarked, they had to change it. The reason I played it was due to the fact I LOVED watching Robotech and when I saw the cover of the Tomahawk(Robotech)/Excalibur(Macross)/Warhammer(Battletech) just looking so badass, I just had to have it. I played from Batteldroids (still own the original parts but went and bought a second sealed box off of ebay some time ago - surprisingly the second one didn't have the models - so I don't know if they took them and resealed it - they were only Dougram models anyway.) up to the first two expansion packs and the first technical readout and everything in between for the tabletop game. Then I stopped playing it. Then I picked up the Mechwarrior 2 + expansions and Mechwarrior 3 games. Didn't play any of the console based games since consoles, in this case, suck. I used to own a flight stick, throttle, and rudder pedals (used for torso twists). That's why consoles suck in this particular case. = ) So, I haven't touched it in at least 10 years (tabletop or computer). I already have my username and I am on the fence about the Founder's package since money is tight. If it wasn't, I would get the Legendary package. So with all of that said, I don't know what ToP means or at least I am not familiar with the acronym. Does this mean I am not well versed?

lol. After looking it up, I realize that is "after" my time. Basically when they had to do all of their own mech art is when I got out. I guess I have missed out on a ton of stuff. =)

Yea, dude. They created an entire universe. Backstories for all the Great Houses and Clans. Entire cultures. I never got THAT deep into it, though.

I got into the PC games as part of one of the less-strict, Clan-based groups that wouldn't go TOO nuts (no roleplaying) but still adhered to Trials of Position and the like. Mainly, though, it was just a way to ensure folks in our fighting group weren't just casual gamers and could be relied upon to use a measure of strategy. No lone-wolf, rush-in, screw-the-group-I'm-going-solo type gamer is going to put up with a Trial of Position just to get in and face Trials of Grievance if there was a disagreement between members. xD

When 'MechWarrior shifted to console, I stopped following it. The 'MechAssault series was a miserable attempt to keep the series going on console (hence the need for a reboot). With MWO coming up soon, I'm probably just going to be a solo act until I get familiar with the controls/feel of the game again. Afterwards, though, I expect my 'MechWarrior nerdery will be fueled enough to try and get back to my old way of playing.

Anyone in on the Beta yet? Would be pretty sweet if some MuttsWorlders would want to come stomp around in large, walking death machines with me.

Saw a video on this, don't think I'd play it, but look fun. I'm gonna stick here and be a loser who buys Black Ops 2 (Which will prolly suck) and hope GTA5 comes out soon.

That looks awesome. And I do vaguely remember playing one of the earlier versions ages ago. But I'm not really fond of betas or bugs. So, I think I'll have to wait for the full release.

Well, it appears drinking beats principals. Got drunk yesterday and bought the elite package as well (bloody SWTOR all over). Riding the hunchback, sort of all-rounder.
