Your name: Zaxafras

Age: 42

Which server(s) are you applying for? Survival

Which position you're applying for: Moderator

How long have you been a part of the server/forums? I think February 2012

Have you had any experience as staff on other servers? I set up a server last year and played around with how it worked just for fun

Are you familiar with some of the server plug-ins staff members use? I used WorldEdit and WorldGuard and am familiar with op commands

Why do you think you should be a moderator on this server?
So, this is the meat of it really - I don't want special powers or fame, I just want to give back some of what I've been given. Muttsworld survival is a really cool server and it wouldn't work if it wasn't for the mods who fix grief. I've been griefed heavily in the past and I was so grateful to the mods who spent a lot of time fixing it. It was often the case that the same mod had to come back and fix the same things several times. Each time, the mod was friendly and very happy to help and I was inspired by that attitude. Upon reading mumblerit's request for more staff applications, I really thought a long time about whether I wanted to apply. Being a mod means spending time helping out instead of spending time building. I've decided though that I would like to spend some of my "play" time fixing grief and keeping the world we've all created in good shape.

[Yes/No] You use the following services that other community members use:
-Forums: Yes
-Irc: No
-TeamSpeak: No

Any other information you would like to share with us: I'm a quick learner and a team player. In my real life, I work in education and in IT. I have to warn you that I would probably go around and randomly plant trees :) Also I'm more likely to say something about language and appropriateness or mute than some - there's quite a bit of stuff that gets said that really isn't appropriate for some of our players who are really young.

Ha, I've fixed so much grief at your house that I would typically know what was griefed already :P Onto the aspect of rating you as a potential moderator. A good start would be to get on irc and/or teamspeak, its a way staff communicate to each other outside of the game. Also helps us get you to know you better. Essential as well, one or both, or switch off on them, as long as people know you are consistently there.

Next is to get into noob chat and brunt help chat to welcome new players in noob chat and answer questions, help them answer basic questions. Help chat, just help people answer questions. And feel free to poke people into the right direction on using the chats (ie if trade gets out of hand with general discussions, global busy with trades, etc).

As of right now noobs get filtered into spawn right away, once the tutorial is back up just guide them to complete the tutorial and answer questions they may have.

In short:
Get on either teamspeak or IRC more often
Halp the noobos!
